  • FIFTH THIRD BANK, Toledo, Ohio 2001 – 2004
    A $4 billion banking and financial services organization serving Northwestern Ohio/Southeastern Michigan. Participation on the Board's Executive Committee (2001-2005).
  • KENAKORE CORPORATION (Depot Direct, Inc.), Perrysburg, Ohio 2000 – 2002
    A technology (Internet) based international demand fulfillment company providing logistics management and warehousing/order fulfillment services to the industrial distribution marketplace.
  • BETCO, INC., Toledo, Ohio 1997 - 2010
    Specialty chemical manufacturer of cleaning solutions. Second generation family-owned business with aggressive growth strategies. Successfully completed 3 acquisitions to address non-organic growth core industry.  Assisted in financial recapitalization of company; buyout of minority shareholders; operational improvements, etc. Member, Compensation Committee.
  • CALIFORNIA COAST VENTURE FORUM, Santa Barbara, CA 2004 - Present
    The California Coast Venture Forum (CCVF) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to invite pre-qualified emerging growth and later stage companies to participate in professional forums with leading investors and other entrepreneurs. CCVF has assisted companies raise over $110 million in capital investments from private equity, venture capital and angel investors during the past decade. Board members provide mentoring and advice to participants and select which companies will present at CCVF forums.

  • CORENETWORK, Toledo, Ohio 2003 – 2004
    Private equity group that identifies, evaluates and provides an organized network of qualified investors for private equity funding of start up and later round financings of early stage companies.
  • IN4 VENTURE FUND, Toledo, Ohio 2003 – 2003
    Member, Founding Board of Advisors; Early stage fund created by Regional Technology Alliance of Northwestern Ohio (subsidiary of lead economic development agency, Regional Growth Partners, Inc.) to assist early stage companies validate their technologies and obtain early seed capital for business development.
  • UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN BUSINESS SCHOOL INSTITUTE FOR ENTREPRENEURIAL STUDIES, Ann Arbor Michigan 2000 - 2006
    Advisory board member to the Samuel Zell and Robert H. Lurie Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies at the University of Michigan Business School.
  • STONEBRIDGE INDUSTRIES, INC., Sylvania (Toledo), Ohio 1997 – 1999
    A privately held acquisition company focused at acquiring small automotive suppliers/manufacturing companies. Sold three businesses previously acquired in 1999.
  • CHICAGO EQUIPMENT CREDIT CORPORATION, Morton Grove (Chicago), Illinois 2001 - 2004
    High growth and diversified equipment leasing company focused at mid-market, structured and small ticket leasing sectors with a particular emphasis at financing venture capital-funded companies. Chairman, Compensation Committee 2003 – 2004. Consultant and senior advisor to CEO and Board 2004.
  • FINDLEY DAVIES, INC., Toledo, Ohio 1994 – Present
    Regional employee benefits and human resources consulting firm with offices in Toledo and Cleveland, Ohio, and Charlotte, N.C. Board responsibility includes participation on Compensation Committee (1997-Present).
  • CRYSTAL FUND, LLC., Washington, D.C. 1998 – 2010
    A privately owned investment management company responsible for the management of "fund of funds" hedge funds.
  • METAL MANAGEMENT, INC., Chicago, Illinois 1997 – 2000
    A $1 billion public company (NYSE:MM) consolidator of the scrap metals recycling industry. Served on Executive Committee (1997-1999) and Audit Committee (1997-1998). Completed over 10 acquisitions in an industry consolidation. 
  • CAPITAL BANK, N.A., Sylvania (Toledo), Ohio 1989 – 2001
    A $1 billion publicly traded bank holding company started in 1989. Board responsibilities include participation on Compensation, Audit, Securities, and Investment committees (1989-2001). Chairman of Compensation Committee (1998-2001) and prior Chairman of Audit Committee.
  • THE ISAAC GROUP, Toledo, Ohio 1988 - Present
    Served on several family-owned business boards involved in scrap metals, commercial real estate development and management, industrial real estate development and management, and private investments. Successfully sold business to public company to provide liquidity to shareholders.
  • MILTEC RESOURCES, L.P., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 1995 - 1997
    Joint venture start-up company with Tube City, Inc. (scrap metals recycling and steel mill-processing company). Start-up company developed new technologies to recycle steel mill waste by-products.
  • UNIVERSITY OF TOLEDO SCHOOL OF BUSINESS, Toledo, Ohio 2000 – 2004
    Member, Board of Advisors of Business School. Provide direction and suggestions to Dean of School of Business.
